4 Abducted Children Found Safe In Long Beach
Four young children allegedly abducted by a 29-year-old man were found safe in Long Beach Sunday afternoon, a police officer said. The children were rescued and the man was taken into custody around 5:30 p.m., said Los Angeles police Lt. Faryl Fletcher of the Newton Station.

The pilot of a small plane that crashed in Kern County after flying over a Fourth of July parade was identified. The sister-in-law of David Zweigle said the 42-year-old pilot was the manager of the Tehachapi Municipal Airport. The passenger's name has not been released.
