Guests: Dr. Debra Cherry, Clinical Psychologist & Executive Vice President of the Southern California Chapters of the Alzheimer’s Association, came in to promote their upcoming “15th Annual Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk,” taking place on Sunday, November 4th.  She also talked about hopeful research projects & newer treatments that have some success at delaying the onset & progression of the disease.

Guests: Two representatives of the California Employment Development Department, Eddie Purtuas, Employment Programs Manager, and Gentry Humphrey, Veterans Programs Coordinator, came in to promote the upcoming “State of California’s Hire A Hero, Hire A Vet Job and Resource Fair,” taking place on Tuesday, November 13th.  They also talked about the many problems that cause so many veterans to be unemployed, homeless and in need of a variety of social services including drugs, alcohol and mental illness.

Guests: Janeen Holmes, President & CEO of My Stuff Bags Foundation, came in to discuss their emergency outreach to supply children who have been displaces by the Southern California Wildfire with some essentials to replace the belongings they’ve lost.  She also solicited donations of children’s toys, blankets, pajamas & teddy bear from our listeners.
