1. When do I listen for my name to be called?
One name is called at the top of the designated hour indicated by The WAVE.
2. What do I do when I hear my name called?
You have 30 minutes to call The WAVE studios at 1-800-520-WAVE (9283). We will then verify you as the winner.
3. What happens if my name is called and I don't call back within 30 minutes?
Unfortunately you will not be declared the winner. Your name comes out of the running for the remainder of the year and placed back in the following year.
4. Is there somewhere I can check to see if my name has been called?
All names called on the air are listed on our website. Click here to view the list.
5. I can't listen at work. How will I know if my name is called?
Ask a friend or family member to listen for you. If your name is called, they can call you and let you know.
6. Can a friend or family member call in for me if they hear my name?
The actual person whose name is called is the only one that can call in to claim their trip.
7. What exactly did I win?
Your trip includes roundtrip airline coach class travel from LAX to the destination of your choice.
8. Do I get a hotel stay too?
Your trip includes airfare for you and your guest. You are responsible for everything else including hotel stay. If you need assistance booking a hotel, our travel partner All Star Travel Group can assist you.
9. What destination can I go to if I win?
All 199 destinations are listed on our website you may choose from.
10. Can I enter more than once?
Nope, you may only enter to win once. All duplications will be deleted.
11. Can someone else in my household enter to win?
Yes. But only one winner per household is allowed.
12. I entered to win 4 years ago, do I have to sign up again to win?
Nope. Once you enter The WAVE's Trip-A-Day Giveaway you are entered forever. You do not need to sign up again.
13. Do I have to pay taxes on my trip I won?
Yes. You will be responsible for any travel taxes including but not limited to airport fees, 9-11 security taxes, state and federal travel taxes. You will also be taxed at the end of the year on the overall value of your trip. This will be listed as "additional income" on your end of the year taxes.
14. What if I win and then can't take my trip, can I give it to someone else.
Unfortunately all trips are non-transferrable. If you are unable to take the trip, you will have to forfeit it.
