Guests: Two representatives from the Los Angeles County Commission for Women, Charlotte Lesser, President and Chair of the commission, and Reiko Duba, Vice President, Founder, and Chairperson for the run for health, came in to promote the upcoming 9th Annual “L.A. County Run for Health,” taking place on Saturday, September 15th. This event will raise funds to provide health services to low income women. They also elaborated on the overall change this 15 member advisory board has from the county board of supervisors that appoints them to look at the issues & concern of and for women in the county & report on what they county provides in support of women in the areas of abuse, health, educational opportunities, pay equity & report on deficiencies.

Guests: Greg Gibson, Battalion Chief, Chaplin, and President of the Los Angeles Fire Department Historical Society, came in to discuss the upcoming “2007 Greater Alarm Gala,” taking place on Friday, September 14th. This event is designed to raise funds for the widows & orphans of the firefighters who have died in the line of duty and to erect a memorial in the historic LAFD Museum in their memory.

Guests: Sarah Zurbuchen, Operations Manager with the Local AVON Walk Office, came in to promote the upcoming “Los Angeles AVON Walk for Breast Cancer,” taking place September 15th & 16th. She also talked about the guidelines for early detection & urged our listeners to walk or donate to the walk to raise funds for research and to help provide access to breast cancer care for those in need.

Segment IV - 11:45pm – 12:00am       
Guests: Wendy Talarico, Communications Manager for the Los Angeles County Fair, came in to promote the 85th Edition of the Los Angeles County Fair taking place through September 30th. The fair features educational exhibits, musical entertainment, livestock and agriculture, fun, food, contests and the midway rides. This years fair will have an increased focus on the environment with their “Eco-Now” planet saving adventure that features a “House of Trash” that demonstrates the amount of trash that a family of four can accumulate in one year & promoting recycling. Habitat for Humanity will also be building two new homes for to local families on-site, during the fair.
