Matt Riedy

Hometown: Buffalo, NY

Radio Stations You’ve Worked At:Q-FM-97 Buffalo, WSHE Miami, KSAN San Francisco, KZOK, KZAM, 95 KJR, 98.9 Smooth Jazz KWJZ all in Seattle

When you’re not working, what hobbies do you have? Golf, golf and more golf. I work out a few days a week but used to be in there six days a week.I competed in several body building shows in Seattle and had three 2nd place finishes in the Washington State Championships and a win in the 2001 Weieder Washington Natural show  in the masters 40+ category at the age of 43.

I'm also an actor. It's been a pretty good couple of years for a new guy in town. Past shows include Boston Legal, Vanished, Daybreak, Las Vegas, Private Practice, Dirty Sexy Money, Criminal Minds, Ugly Betty and back again in episode 6 of Las Vegas playing an F.B.I. agent.

Favorite Movie: Too hard to pick but for now I’ll say “L.A. Story.”

Best concert(s) you’ve ever been to: Stanley Turrentine at the Buffalo Statler Hilton Hotel.

Favorite Vacation Destination: Pinehurst, North Carolina for golf.

What is your greatest sense of accomplishment? After growing up a fat kid who was teased by kids and teachers in Jr. High, winning a body building show in 2001. That and stopping my habit of a 5th of Jack Daniels a day in 1997. Life is so much more rewarding when you live at it’s pace with a clear mind.

When and where were you happiest? Here, now.

Best place to eat in Los Angeles: Still doing research

Favorite Food/Beverage: Steak, pesto pasta, strawberry rhubarb custard pie.

Favorite TV Show: Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Sopranos, Entourage.

Favorite Artists: Sade, James Taylor, The Pretenders, Vince Guaraldi.

If I wasn’t working in radio, I would be: An actor and a photographer.

What would you like to be when you grow-up? Retired and living on a golf course.

Favorite thing about LA: The weather and the people pursuing their love.

Best part of working at The WAVE: The people. Whether behind the microphone or behind the scenes, they are the ultimate professionals who are great at what they do.

What book would you recommend for someone to read: Have to think about that one.

One place I always take out of town visitors in LA: Lost Canyons golf course.

Something personal you’d like to share: If you have yet to go after that thing you love to do, I would tell  you to do it now. Stop telling yourself “One day…” The sooner you begin, the sooner  you can realize  true happiness and fulfillment.
